Introduction: Topic of thesis

It becomes clearer every day; learning has started its own revolution and is changing. It is not clear yet if this will be for the better or worse because with the new learning environment of e-learning some important aspect within learning might change or disappear.
People have a need to meet in person. Online applications try to get people connected the same way like with Social Network Sites as “Facebook”, “LinkedIn” and “MySpace”. Will the social aspect within learning not be missed in an e-leaning environment? Will the learners not miss out on the emotional and social contact within the learning experience?
Who needs physical gatherings when we have the online world to learn from?
