Last Monday we have had a project brainstorm for defining a project based on the theory I have being collecting the last few months. Starting with an short introduction to the topic and presenting my findings from the last month we started a good brainstorm session.
The brainstorm went well and the time was over before we new it.
Together with Bart, Nils, Boudewijn and Dennis, I discussed all findings from the questionnaire.
Even though we know that the teachers in primary education are some what sceptic we want to believe that the future schooling of children in primary education will be with more use of the Internet and web 2.0.
We started with going trough our minds and writing down all kinds of keywords that have an connection with the Internet and the primary education. Here we found out that the most conmen words that have being written down where:
Communication - discussion - networking (International)
Play - competition - scores - rewarding - challenging - motivating
User generated content - accessible - feedback
Project based - collaborating
Skills - learning to find
Culture - interests - bullying - hobbies
From here on we started working out ideas.
Online exchange - The world is bigger than the village you live in. (Connect children in other cities, environment. Chairing experiences!)
Virtual world ()
Homework platform (Where topics of interest will be discussed or educational materials will be communicated. Even contact with professionals.)
Portfolio See that there are more people with the same interests. (Here children can develop skills that they would like to improve, or show the world what they are really good at and find others with the same interests)
Sticker are being given to the children in class when they fur fill a task. This aspect of rewarding a child can be used online. For example with collecting items for you avatar, ranking with stars that will give you excess to more! This way children will be persuaded to return.
Today I will start my second brainstorm about what project fits best with my findings on e-learning 2.0 in primary education.
